I go to Denmark fairly regularly and you won't get a more fiercely patriotic people than they.

Flying the Danish flag is normal in Denmark. It has its fair share of EU-philic snivellers who whine "What is Danish anyway?" just as we have pathological Anglophobes here.

I find the Danes and patriotic English (that's English not British) very similar in outlook. They are very tolerant and liberal, but are exceedingly pissed off about foreigners abusing that tolerance and messing it up for them.

The big difference between the Danes and the English is that Danes are not encumbered by being in a Union which blurs their nationality. They are clearly Danish.

Britishness is used as a weapon against the English. It enables politicians and British media to talk about 'the NHS' and 'the country', thus disguising that it is only the English being deleteriously affected.

The English are rapidly losing faith in the three main parties. Nobody believes Cameron will get rid of the regions. The Tories started the process under Major and will just re-gerrymander the regions to suit themselves. They talk big on the EU, but sign away sovereignty at every opportunity.

The Illiberal Undemocrats believe in local government provided that government is local to Brussels.

Only Labour is honest by openly declaring it is engineering the destruction of England.

While England is in a devolved union with 'fellow Brits' the English people will always be treated as 3rd class. They will always have lower public spending per capita than their 'fellow Brits'. This can only be reversed with an English Parliament. If 'fellow Brits' can't live with that then can become oxymoronically independent within the EU. We English wouldn't care a jot.
